To the east of Kimberley sits the equally rural Carleton Forehoe. The village name – ‘Forehoe’ – meaning ‘four hills’ – refers to the ancient tumuli which are situated in woodland adjacent to the main road.
Carleton Forehoe sits on the opposite side of Kimberley park to its sister village of Kimberley.
To the north of the main settlement sits the charming village church of St Mary’s. The unique church, with no electricity – a rarity these days – is accessible via a footpath across a field, and visitors are welcome to request the key to have a look inside.
